CHANGE TO ICM EXAM PROCESS
The ICM is amending its exam registration process effective October 1, 2014. The change will separate the writing of a pre-requisite examination from the full application process. The applicant will focus on meeting the educational standard before meeting the full requirements of the application for a licence process such as completing the licence application, obtaining a criminal record check, obtaining professional liability, obtaining a supervisor for a new life agent, and obtaining authorization from a sponsor. The completion of the licence application will no longer be required prior to writing the exam(s).
Examination Registration Form: The applicant will complete and submit the Examination Registration Form.
Exam Fees: The exam fee must accompany the registration form. The $110.00 per exam can be in the form of cash, money order, company cheque or certified personal cheque. Credit card or debit payment is not available. This fee will be non-refundable.
For general insurance agent and insurance adjuster applicants:
ICM will contact the applicant to arrange the exam date upon receipt of: (1) the Examination Registration Form and (2) non-refundable exam fee.
For Life and A&S exam applicants:
LLQP Certificate of Completion: Life and A&S applicants must provide the ORIGINAL LLQP Certificate of Completion or ensure that the ICM receives the Certificate of Completion directly from the LLQP provider in advance of registration for the exam. It will be important for the name on the certificate to match the photo identification that the applicant will use to prove his or her identity on the day of the exam. If the name does not match, the applicant will not be permitted to sit the exam.
ICM will contact the applicant to arrange the exam date upon receipt of three requirements: (1) the Examination Registration Form, (2) LLQP Certificate of Completion, and (3) non-refundable exam fee. The exam must be written within thirty (30) days of receipt of the exam requirements by ICM.
Notification of Exam Results: Exam applicants will no longer be notified with their results by telephone. Applicants will be provided with information on how to obtain their individual results and the marks will be available on-line. Confirmation will be forwarded via email to the applicants.
